The Donation rules are simple in Alberta; only a person who is ordinarily resident in Alberta may make a contribution to a registered political entity. Corporations, unincorporated associations, and organizations are prohibited from making contributions. This also includes trade unions and employee organizations.

How much can be contributed? A person is allowed to contribute a maximum of $4,000 per calendar year to any one or combination of the following political entities: political parties, constituency associations, candidates, nomination contestants, leadership contestants. The maximum tax credit is $1000.00 : Values over $2300.00 up to $4000.00 are gifts only.
